A rose and a thorn

Here’s a great way to start a coaching session. Ask your clients to check in with “a rose and a thorn.”

Describe how you are feeling in two words: one word to describe the best of what is going on for you and one word to describe the worst.

Eg: “Hopeful and tired,” “excited and exhausted,” or “ready and scared.”

This is an especially great check-in for a group coaching session because you can rapidly go around the room and have everyone feel seen and heard with just two words.

It’s also a great reminder that we’re not alone. Everyone has challenges along with their joys and struggles alongside their successes.

If you want a next level check-in, ask them for “a rose, a thorn and a bud.” The bud is something that you’re really looking forward to.

Love. Rich

Great Leaders are Great Coaches

For most of human history it wasn’t called coaching, it was called leadership.
We teach highly successful leaders to become highly successful coaches.

If this sounds like you, let’s talk and explore if working together is a good fit.
