Do you want followers or do you want clients?
The movie Casablanca is often referred to as one of the greatest films ever made.
It’s a 1942 romantic drama, set during World War II, starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in career-defining performances.
But Humphrey Bogart was 5 ft 8 (173cm) and Ingrid Bergman was 5 foot 9 (175cm). So, during filming, he wore lifts during their scenes.
We all know what you see in the movies isn’t real but these days what you see in real life is often not real, too.
Here’s a journalist filming a photoshoot on a fake private plane for the HBO documentary “Fake Famous.”
You can now rent a mansion for an afternoon for as little as $600, or a fake private jet studio for $49.99 an hour. And there are thousands of online tutorials that will teach you to pretend you are on an elaborate vacation, when you’re really just in your bedroom.
It’s no longer difficult to become “Instagram famous…” so you need to ask yourself a crucial question:
Do you want followers or do you want clients?
If you want clients, wake up every morning and ask yourself two questions:
- Who can I serve today?
- What can I create today?
I had a bracelet made to remind myself:
Serve one person.
Create one thing.
When I’ve done either, I turn over the bracelet – there’s a checkmark on the back – and I’m done for the day.
Love. Rich
