You don’t need to charge high fees as a coach. There are hundreds of thousands of coaches who charge $50 an hour or even less. There are self-help books for less than $20 and there are coaching apps that coach people for a few dollars a month.
So, if you choose to increase your fees, there are plenty of ways that clients can get support, if it’s not with you.
But when you stop charging your clients by the hour and you charge for the value you create, everything changes – for you and for your clients.
- Higher fees help you filter for clients who are more focused, who take rapid action and who are committed to their long-term success.
- Higher fees allow you to work with a handful of high-performing clients and then do more and more work for other clients, at little or no cost.
- Higher fees allow you to give back, to work for non-profits, to offer scholarships and to raise money for charities.
- Higher fees allow you to help your clients and to create a great lifestyle for you and your family.
Successful coaches have an entrepreneurial mindset – they run a business and they charge for the high value they create. Struggling coaches have a charitable mindset – they give everything away for free, they are scared of receiving money and they are afraid of building a business.
Here’s the thing, successful coaches often make far more of a difference in the world – beyond their clients.
This year, my community helped raise over $40,000 for humanitarian relief in Ukraine.
Last year, with the members of my 4PC Accelerator, we raised the funds to take care of 3 wolves at Wolf Connection – a center that takes care of 50 wolves and supports children in the inner city, formerly incarcerated, and military veterans.
Over the past 7 years, my company has helped to build 5 schools in Africa. And we’ve offered hundreds of scholarships to our programs.
I share these accomplishments because I’m very proud of them but mostly to celebrate our high-fee clients, who allow us to give back so much.
