You’re not the right coach for everyone
I once explained to someone that I wasn’t the right coach for her. Later that day she sent me a scathing email. It was really vindictive.
I was shocked and I felt hurt. And I wondered if I’d done the wrong thing.
It took me two days before it hit me… I hadn’t made a terrible mistake. Her email had validated my decision!
You’re not the right coach for everyone.
It’s a selfish act to coach someone when they’re not an 8, 9 or 10 out of 10 for you.
I promise you there’s a 10 out of 10 coach for that client.
Remember that every time you say yes to coaching a client who is a 7/10 or less, you are actively keeping out your dream clients.
Here’s what to say when a client isn’t a best fit:
“Based on the support you need, I’m not the best fit coach for you. And I want to make sure you have the very best fit. Let me check in with my colleagues and get back to you with a referral for a resource or a coach that can support you best…”
The sooner you raise your bar and filter for dream clients, the sooner they’ll show up.
Love. Rich
